A few years ago I picked up a lovely little card with a quote from Rabindranath Tagore that goes like this"
" I slept and dreamed that life was JOY. I awoke and saw that life was SERVICE. I acted and behold, SERVICE WAS JOY".
I saw how true that was today while making cat and dog food deliveries for PAWS San Diego. PAWS is a non-profit organization that provides free pet food, litter, and other services to San Diegans who are below the poverty-line, elderly, disabled and/or chronically ill. With another volunteer we delivered free supplies to eight different clients in the Normal Heights district. All of the recipients we met were so gracious and grateful; we got handshakes and a few hugs and all stated how much they appreciated the service and our help. It was food for my soul and I realized how truly little it takes to make a big difference in people's lives. I urge you to consider volunteering for this great organization but if you can't do that, they would most certainly appreciate your donations of cat food, dog food, litter, treats, or money. Making a difference feels really good!!!
