I got this great news today from Alley Cat Allies and want to share it with you.
Action Update Hayden Law Protected by Subcommittee Members
Good news! Last week, the California State Assembly Budget Subcommittee heeded the protests of the animal protection community and rejected Governor Brown’s proposed repeal of the Hayden Law.
We applaud the committee members for protecting this valuable legislation, which saves animals’ lives by requiring that shelters provide necessary medical care and by increasing opportunities for animals to be reunited with their caregivers or adopted.
Thank you to everyone who took action already by contacting their assembly members and showing them that Californians won’t stand for a rollback of lifesaving policies.
This is further proof of how much we can make a difference by raising our voices to protect the animals we love!!!!
