On Monday morning I awoke to find a text message from a client and neighbor at my apartment complex. Her dog was missing and she wanted some help finding it. Apparently, around 9:00 p.m. the previous night she had let her two dogs out the front door, unleashed and uncollared, to go for a potty break. She does this routinely and they always come back in the apartment in a few minutes. This particular night, her little dog decided to venture off on her own for awhile. Although my client called and searched , the little dog was not to be found. |

Kudos to Assembly Member Curt Hagman who introduced AB 258, known as Molly's Bill, to the Assembly Agricultural Committee. Yesterday it passed with a 9-0 vote.
AB 258 will protect California dogs from potential negative consequences of receiving the regular anti-rabies vaccine. It will establish an exemption from the vaccine for dogs that a veterinarian deems likely to have dangerous or even lethal reactions to it.
This is great news for owners with dogs whose health is seriously compromised and could be weakened or worse by the anti-rabies vaccine. |
